Recumbent dealers around the world 3.

The last set of recumbent dealers is here. We will add one more only in case you send us some recommendations. This time we show you shops from eastern Europe, Asia and Australia.

SLOVENIA – It is the most developed country among so called “new EU countries” and it is pretty small. So you cannot be surprised that only one recumbent dealer is there. Peter Ostervesnik runs his  Udobnoposvetu (it means something like: “comfortably around the world”) and in his offer you can find wide range of recumbents and trikes from european producers. He has started with AZUB recumbents about three years ago and he also ride his AZUB HardCore together with Nazca Fuego. His web page is nice to see even if you do not understand.

HUNGARY – Near to hungarian capital Budapest in village called Budakalasz you can find the best recumbent shop east from Germany with plenty of high end US and EU recumbents together with their cheaper versions. The shop was founded about three years ago too and has quite a lot of interesting projects as a promotion. If you go around, try to visit them or look at  A.M. Bringa

Let´s go far more eastern to south Asia and than continue south. We cannot provide much comments about following shops but if you wonder how look web pages of asian and australian web pages let´s continue reading and clicking.

SOUTH KOREARecumbent Korea -  This web page can look a little bit strange (mostly because of the language) but it seems that there are quite some informations and also some blogs around. We wonder how much bikes they sell per year…

JAPANCycletech is quite known shop which has been already working for many years. They are mainly interested in folding bikes but also quite some recumbents are in their offer. It is pretty strange that no real recumbent producer is there so most of the bikes have to be imported from eithr US or Europe.

AUSTRALIATri Sled is mainly known as a producer of very fast velomobiles, but they have also some recumbents improted from Europe in their offer.

NEW ZEALANDGreenbike – really too far from us to comment and not many info on their web :-]

Recumbent dealers around the world 2.

Here is the next batch of recumbent dealers. Today we will introduce you some Scandinavian dealers and some other from rest of  Europe.

DANMARK – There are not many recumbent dealers in this country which we can call “bicycle country”. As many of you knows it is a home of Leitra – very interesting trike/velomobile. We have chosen a Cykel-Optimisten. They have quite nice web page with quite some explanations (we could see some pictures, but did not understand anything).

FINNLAND – Keijo Kansonen, the owner of Sähköpyörät, is  pretty funny guy with big knowladges about recumbents and also cruisers. His bussiness is quite wide and he is dealing not only with recumbents and trikes, but also with Yerba Mate and some kind of wind mills. His shop is located in Helsinki in huge building with many other companies in third or fourth floor and you will feel a little bit lost there, among all those bikes, but we think you will like it afterward.

sahkopyora

ENGLAND - One of the most known shops there is London Recumbents as same as Bikefix. Both located in London. They offer wide range of recumbents, trikes and also some cargo bikes and both have nice web pages with a lot of informations.

SCOTLAND - Some of you may not like me if I divide the UK into England and Scotland. But these two parts are so far from each other that it is good to point at Laid Back based in Edinburgh. Till now they sell only recumbents but they already think about trikes as well. They cooperate with The Bicycle Works shop so it is better to call to Laid Back before you want to visit them. It seems that there is also connection between them and Ligfietswinkel in Amsterdam which we mention last time.

SWITZERLAND - Swiss recumbent market is a little bit complicated thanks to duties and other problems around that. Many swiss people buy their recumbents aborad either in Germany or France. But they have some nice shops. Especialy the one in Aarau is specialized in many outdoor sports and is located in building with three floors with lot of stuff inside. We really like it. And the name? Unterwegs.

Next time we will finally show you some very interesting web pages with crazy languages like korean or japanese.

recumbent dealers around the world 1.

Have you ever think about where ever you can buy a recumbent from a dealer? Have you tried to search for some recumbent web pages in languages which are completely not understandable for you? And have you ever think about all the world countries where there is at least one recumbent?

We would like to introduce you first couple of recumbent shops in different countries and we would like to hear from you about other countries and their shops and also about all the countries where there is at least one recumbent.

Would be nice to see the list.

GERMANY- There are many dealers and some of them have really nice shops and also nice web pages. Some are specialists only in recumbents and trikes and some have their normal bicycle shops with some recumbents in their offer. We suppose that in Germany there are about 30 shops where you can buy recumbents and about 10 of them are really good. We have chosen Radieschen and Co. from Freiburg from south-west of Germany. This shop is located in beautiful part of the town with limited car traffic and many bikes around. They upgraded their web page some months ago. You may also know them as a German distributor of Catrike.

radiechen

NETHERLANDS – This flat country is known for high number of recumbent riders and also for many recumbent producers. Nobody cannot be surprised to hear that there are also many recumbent dealers. In the capital Amsterdam, there is one called Ligfietswinkel which is not large shop but one which is overcrovded by bikes and trikes. In the corner you can find also two or three velomobiles. They have almost everything for test and good customer service.

ligfietswinkel

BELGIUM – Just next to Netherlands there is Belgium. But there are not real recumbent producers (at least what we know) and only few recumbent shops are there. The biggest with two branches is Ligfiets.be located originaly in Gent but with good shop in the middle of Antwerps. There they sell quite a lot of Bromptons and some other folders but the main part of the shop is full of recumbents.

ligfiets-gent

FRANCE – We can see that the recumbent market has been  growing there a lot in last two or three years and now you can find there at least 10 recumbent dealers. Unfornatenuly there are not many of them with nice looking web pages so we have chosen one of the newest shop there in Lyon. The interesting point is that the owner, salesman and bike mechanic in one person is surprisingly woman. We introduce you Cyclociel.

cyclociel

SPAIN – Spain is a new recumbent market with only one good recumbent dealer which is specialist only in recumbents. 3ike has a name which belongs to trike but they focus both on trikes and recumbents. From our post you can see that the new dealers have usualy much better web pages than the other. They probably know better that the internet is one of the most important communication channel between them and the customer. We like the 3ike.es a lot even we cannot understand a single word.

3ike

AUSTRIA – If we know it correctly, there are only two or three recumbent dealers. One of them is Bike Revolution which is known mainly as a producer of Stein trikes. You can find him in a village close to Vienna in a small wooden building next to his family house. The scale of bikes he has there is impresive incl. Velokraft, AZUB and of course the full range of Stein trikes.

bike-revolution

This little list of european recumbent shops is all for now. You can look forward to next post with much more interesting shops and web pages from east and north Europe and Asia. On the other hand we look forward to your recommandations.

Baskets for recumbents

We were quite surprised when we saw this picture with so many baskets mounted on recumbent and on the cargo trailer. After reading a little bit more of David Hembrow blog it has been pretty clear that David calls himself a Bicycle Basketmaker and he has various baskets in his offer. Recumbent on the picture is Pashley PDQ recumbent which is reviewd by David here.
