The best recumbent videos
If you write “recumbent” into the “search” of Youtube.com on the first place there is a crazy off-road video of AZUB. Than there are several others, but we think that the videos which are done by czech manufacturer AZUB are the best recumbent videos you can see. As same as their bikes, the videos are hard, fast, with good and sporty atmosphere and you can feel from these videos that guys from AZUB really love recumbents and that they live with them.
Another great one is the ZOX video from New York city. It is short, but profesionally done. We like it too. We have not found it on Youtube.com so here is the direct link: ZOX video
And also SLYWAY has some nice videos.
Fully suspended Scorpion
As you can see we are probably the last ones who inform about new HP-Velotechnik Scorpion fx – fully suspended recumbent trike. It looks like HP used the experiences with “head suspension” from Speed Machine and put them on both sides with using the McPherson system of suspension. Rest of the trike seems to be pretty much the same as the common Scorpion.
We are again surprised that HP did not improve any part of the construction of the rear fork, which is the same from the start of the HP production. Well, it works good, and the No Squat design, is also working nice, but if you look at the bike, you can see so many different tubes, and plates with holes etc. etc. Especialy with the rear rack. We think that the design of the rear part could be a little bit more simple and smooth.
Anyway. 17,9 kilos and full suspension are good selling points.
1 commentAgatha and Piotr – some more pictures
We have added links to galleries of Piotr and Agatha´s great journey. Agatha is disabled so she traveled on a special trailer and was towed by Piotr. Very nice polish couple. You can visit a post about them here.
No commentshandbikes gallery
In fact the only one official cyling category in which the UCI alow to lie is handbiking. We come with a set of pictures of different handbikes. You can see that they are not same and even among handbikes there are several categories. It depends mostly from which part of backbone the racer is disabled. Some can move with the upper part of the body and can work more some cannot.
These pictures are a little bit older from 2003 WCH.
Velomobile for two
I expected so much, when I red the title “Versatile velomobile for two” on Youtube.com. I told to myself. Great! Finaly a velomobile for two people. I thought it will be one which was re-made at home. But as you can see, it is just a joke.
I think that the idea of two persons velomobile is good. It is more close to car than common velomobile. You can take your child to school or your wife to work an on the way back from your work pick them up again. I know that it would be much heavier, too long, simply too big, but still smaller than any car! And I think and hope that future technologies will bring a possibility to build such velomobile even with good weight. I already know about two such velomobiles. One looks great, the other one is a little bit poor. Let´s have a look at the pictures and video hereunder.

source: cab-bike.com here you can see that also Cab Bike was/is thinking about real tandem velomobile.
Next two videos of streamliners
We have found next two pretty interesting videos about streamliners. The first one is a kind of introduction video of the european fastest bicycle which is owned and driven by Demajn Zabovnik (SLO). The other one is a little bit more interesting for me. The Blue Jay is definetely not that known as Eivie or Varna, but you can see pretty simple construction and the fairing is quite simple as well. But the guy managed more than 83 km/h!
Can you imagine riding 80 km/h by your own power on a flat road! Simply great.
